A door does not usually leave the rail because of one dramatic event; it leaves because something had already gone wrong and then a gust or a hard cycle finished it. In Columbia County the pre-existing fault is nearly always roller condition. A steel roller whose bearing has packed with pollen, clay dust and humidity stops rolling and starts dragging, and a dragging roller climbs.
